When you’re driving past a beautiful lake, do you ever have the wish that your car could float? If you answered yes, Doug Ballard’s Spira foam car might be for you. The majority of the car’s body is made from foam. It was designed with pedestrian safety-in-mind. It’s so light it can float in water. It’s also light enough to stand it up on end to fit in the smallest of parking spaces. Though it’s reportedly quite safe (because pedestrians unfortunate enough to be hit by it probably won’t sustain serious injuries) there’s no word on how well it would hold up in a wreck with a regular car.
